The best free - open source E-Mail Client

Yes that’s definitely true to me! I love Thunderbird, I started using it back in 2005 and still having gone through a lot of clients I love it. Why?

  1. It is available in cross platform, be it Linux, BSDs, Mac OS X and Windows
  2. It is meant to deal with E-Mails at first, unlike some other clients where they boast they have so much of stuff. My point is - it needs to get my mails, order them by folders(now tagging also!) and send out emails.
  3. It lightweight compared to Evolution and not too much thin as in Claws
  4. It supports all kind of features of a decent client from RSS subscriptions to rendering HTML mails.
  5. Support for multiple accounts, managing single SMTP or otherwise for each account different SMTP server settings.

So now they released Thunderbird v.2.0.0.0. Here’s the new stuff:
