Know how to present

Sponsored Post

This time I will be blogging differently, I am going to give constructive criticism to L.A. Management Company, LLC. So let’s start!

LA Management is a full service marketing firm that provides Strategic Online Marketing, Advertising, Print Design, Video Production, Website Design and Multimedia Production. Our services span the full range of communications.

This is what they say about themselves on their website - Multimedia Company Produces Online Videos for small Business.

Well, if we look at their website - I’d say that it is really outdated, this kind of websites existed in early 90s. Now it’s time for Web2.0, Ajax! Where’s your Strategic Online Marketing? They must create a better looking website, which is also up-to-date with the current technologies used in the market.

Internet Marketing, $600/month? Hmmm, I’d say it’s way expensive! For $600 you will get:

In this case real hard work lies in “Organic Site Optimization”. Other than that, some kid from high school can do the job.

Multimedia Production

Our designers and programmers can take your Sales Video, PowerPoint presentations, Brochures and Newsletters and convert them into a self-contained CD-ROM presentation that links directly to your website.

I think the CD-ROM covers were designed ok, however they didn’t show how does it look inside those CD-ROMs.

Communication Analysis

In this section there’s a form, it’s JavaScript and basic Server Side validation. I just couldn’t stop myself from disable JavaScript of my Firefox and submitting the empty form. So I get this error that I should fill the required fields(Name, Company, E-mail, phone, website). After just typing anything in the mandatory fields I hit submit button - I get a “Thank you” message for contacting. I think validation must be more smart to see that I entered wrong E-mail address, that’s the least! The form doesn’t have spam protection! If you are going to have any contact form, you must implement some sort of human checking methods.
You can read more about captcha tutorial, Why server side validation is important or why spammers love JavaScript validations

Schedule of Events

I think here they wanted to implement a calendar here, if I don’t concentrate I wouldn’t know it is a calendar. I believe they must have a better calendar with a better Event listing.

Overall, this is a very good example of how you shouldn’t be presenting yourself. It’s my personal opinion, I am not a designer but I have done some web development and simple layout designs.

Mistakes done:

So these are few mistakes they presenting themselves. I hope L.A. Management Company, LLC will read this review and improve their web presence.

Hey man, do You think that someday they will manage to get to Your review? Man, I don’t think so. Why don’t You just write them… According to the level of Your English, You seem to be living not far from them. Maybe they’ll offer You a freelance job, huh? IMHO, the company no longer exists…

I am the President of LA Management and did see your comments.

Some of the structure critiques are valid and we are looking at a new platform.

Regarding the videos, Our company is only 3 years old and we recently won 5 Telly awards. I have no idea what you are talking about regarding the way people are dressed scince most of the videos are within the past 2 years.

We also have had a great deal of positive feedback on site design and ease of navigation. I think you are a little paranoid to be scared by what you call shadow people.

Our CD programs are featured in the portfolio section with sceen shots. Not a big part of our business.

Regarding site opt we work very hard with small firms and have made significant impact in their businesses, some in the hundred’s of thousands. 45% of our business comes from search engines.

The form issue seems petty, (Hope you enjoyed yourself) But I do agree we should have a form on the contact page.

Appreciate your input although I disagree with some comments and need time to address the others.

    Regards,

    Lou Amico
